I need to thank Jo for some of these shots (her's are probably the good ones😉)
I roped my friend Joanne into this walk with me.

There is a small lookout at the trig point.
Mt Arapolis from the walks highest point.
The trig point.
After leaving the trig the Desert Discovery Walk drops off the ridge and heads for a salt lake.

The salt lake.
We swung east (more or less) from the salt lake and headed towards Yellowgums Camp.
While the overhead conditions were a little grim sometimes, at least it wasn't super cold.
Walking the DDW towards Yellowgums Camp we enjoyed our first rainbow for the day.
The changeable conditions actually helped the photos a bit I think.

Approaching Yellowgums Camp along the DDW we enjoyed our second rainbow for the day.
Our Yellowgums Camp.
Yellowgums Camp has a rough hut, a tank and a toilet (and plenty of dirt to pitch a tent on!)....
... as well as some sweet Yellowgums!
I enjoyed some homemade pasta tonight.
Hiker midnight in the Triplex.
The Dirt.
According to my AllTrails App we walked around 21.6 kilometres and climbed about 360 metres on what I'd call a medium grade day of walking. We followed a section of the Desert Discovery Walk today and the walking was all along sandy walking tracks which are mostly clear and well signposted. There is tank water at Kiata Camp and then again at Yellowgums Camp - apart from those two spots it's byo water. Apart from the water tank at Yellowgums Camp there is also a rough walkers hut and a long drop tiolet. I used my AllTrails app today and also carried Meridian's Little Desert topo map. It always pays to contact the local rangers when walking out here to check on the track conditions and the tanks I think so allow some time before the walk to do that (they are notoriously hard to conatct sometimes).
