Ferntree Falls Walk - December 2022

I set off just before sunset for this stroll - following the Rawnsley Bluff Track initially.

Approaching Ferntree Falls - think impressive red cliffs not cascading water here.

The sun was dropping down behind the hills as I made my way back towards the ute.

The track was a little loose and rough in spots.

It was effectively dark by the time I got back to the ute.

The Dirt.
According to the AllTrails App I walked around 4.6 kilometres and climbed about 93 metres on what is a pretty easy walk. I'm thinking around sunset is the best time for this stroll as the sun lights up the west facing cliffs. Sections of this track are also a little rough in spots so if you don't handle loose rocky ground well maybe give this walk a miss. This is an arid area so be careful walking here on hot days. The Ferntree Walk starts on the Rawnsley Park Station grounds so I'm thinking that you'll need to be staying there to access the track. I used my AllTrails App today along with a mud map supplied from the station.
